Desktop (XFCE, RDP)
XFCE desktop with Firefox via RDP (port 3389, private networks only). Log in as root, password: grep root_password /etc/iac/settings.env
Add to a guest
In the guest as root – VM (ready-made image) only:
update --add-modules desktopRuns a normal update and installs the module on the way. On another platform the module is rejected before anything changes.
From the Proxmox node, without logging in:
ssh root@<IP> update --add-modules desktopChoose when creating a guest
Without a dialog, on the Proxmox node:
IAC_NONINTERACTIVE=1 var_modules=auto-update,desktop \
bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://iac.heyer.systems/<app>/vm.sh)"var_modules replaces the app's preselection – keep auto-update in the list if you want it. Interactive: choose “advanced” in the dialog, or tick the module in the generator on the app page.
Remove
update --remove-modules desktopRemoves the module's packages, services, firewall rules and configuration again. Data stays.
Details
XFCE with Firefox, reachable via RDP (port 3389) from private networks. Log in as root. The
module generates the password when it is added:
grep root_password /etc/iac/settings.env
SSH is not affected – it still accepts the key only. When the module is removed, the root password is locked again.
